Updated Demo Now Available!
Hey!
Since September of last year, the demo available for Oratorio, a brand new rhythm action shooter for the NES, has been the initial demo entry I submitted for Byte-Off III. The game ended up being selected for that competition's Wombat Award, which is awarded to the most surprising, unique, or unexpected game created. From then until now, I have been developing the full game, and it is 99 percent complete at this point. As such, I'm updating the demo build. Unfortunately, since I've built out the Endless Mode to be it's own unique experience, this demo no longer features access to that part of the game.
The demo includes access to Area 1 of the game. The full game features FIVE AREAS and an Endless Mode for a total of SIX unique sections of the game. Area 5, the final area of the game, is as long as two previous areas, and Endless Mode features 13 unique environment screens to shoot through and, well, almost endless length.
If you've played the previous demo, it might be worth checking the update out. If you haven't played before, this is just a taste of what Oratorio has in store.
This is 8th and final NES game, and I'm incredibly proud about how it turned out and the unique experience it offers.
I will have more news on the final release in the near future hopefully. I can share that preorders for a physical release are planned for later this year, followed by a digital release of the full game after the preorder window has closed.
There are also plans to bring the game to other platforms in some form, but that news will have to wait.
As always, please reach out with any comments or suggestions.
Cheers,
John
