Zapper Support Added for 2nd Player!
Hey all,
Many have asked for Zapper support for Oratorio. While I did not initially design the game for single-player Zapper support, I realized I could, however, add Zapper support for a second player (or just one person juggling a controller with the gun).
The result is that Oratorio now supports the NES Zapper peripheral! It's perfect for a rhythm-based co-op shooting frenzy! It's also fun solo, although you miss out on the sounds of Player One launching projectiles -- that's where juggling the controller and zapper comes in handy.
The ideal single-player experience is still with a controller, but now solo players have the option and, more importantly to me, two people can share in the music shooting fun.
*Note: The demo does not include Zapper support.
At this point, the game is complete, except for minor bug fixes.
I'm also super excited to announce I was able to make this update before the pending physical release was put into manufacturing. So, all those who preordered a physical copy will (thankfully) get to appreciate this awesome feature.
Speaking of the physical release, there are still copies available to preorder. It's my understanding that the publisher, Premium Edition Games, will begin shipping the game later in the spring.
Now, throw the ROM on an Everdrive, bust out your CRT TV and a Zapper, and invite a friend, sibling, loved one, child or parent over to experience this awesome interactive album.
Cheers,
John
