There are not enough games about mothers.

Sundays with Absalon is a short narrative game about Adelaide, a mother who struggles with feelings of self-doubt and depression because she does not have primary custody of her son Absalon. As the clock ticks away on Sunday, the time when Absalon's father comes to pick him up gets closer and closer.

How do we find value in ourselves, not only in our role as parents, but as individuals? How do we know we're doing our best as parents? If our children provide us with new reasons to live, what happens when they don't live with us?

Sundays with Absalon takes place over the course of a Sunday and can be played in 10-20 minutes.

This game was produced using RPG Maker VX Ace over the course of a week.

Install instructions

The game file is .exe for Windows only.

However, I know a lot of people use Macs primarily, including myself, so I found a workaround. It involves downloading the app WineBottler for Mac. Simply follow the directions on this webpage. I tested this method and it works flawlessly. I took all the screenshots while playing the game on my Mac.
