GameDev is Hard
Hey MULE commandos,
A bug I thought I had squashed in yesterday's update was still present, so I had another go at it. I think -- emphasis on think -- that I finally fixed it this time. Basically, on a few screens when players drop into a screen from falling, the scroll would go automatically and eat the player. This time I think I solved it. Maybe. At least, I couldn't recreate the issue on my end in a quick playthrough.
I also tweaked a number of other small things that will not be noticeable to most players.
One outstanding bug I'm still working on is the ability for the player to sometimes get stuck inside SOLID blocks. I'll have to look at the collisions of my player object and see what can be done. This is a rather random and rare-ish bug, though.
If you're wondering why I haven't done a Kickstarter for any of my NES games after Wart Worm Wingding, THIS is why. I'm just not comfortable doing that again until I know, for sure, that the experience will be smooth 100 percent of the time -- or even 99 percent of the time. So I may never get there. But here's to getting closer.
I'll continue updating the game until it reaches it's final state.
Thanks to all those who've played and offered feedback so far.
Cheers,
John
