Pretty Big General Update!
Leggite Luta Livre » Devlog
Hey all,
It’s been a long time since a meaningful Leggite Luta Livre update. For all those who have purchased and supported the game so far, this update is for you. I hope it provides an even better overall experience. If you enjoy the game and you know others who might like retro brawlers, tell you friends about it.
Still working toward a version of the game I can feel comfortable saying is “done.” But it’s still a great, if not challenging, single-player, beat-em-up adventure that can be enjoyed from start to finish across its five stages and many wacky boss fights.
A lot of updates in this one:
- Jump kicks now break boxes.
- Changed start screen to include an option for players to learn the controls via an Instructions option that can be accessed by hitting select.
- Bosses no longer fire projectiles during intro scenes.
- Scrolling has been tweaked a bit.
- Arrows added to level 3 (Museum of Ancient Technology) to indicate players need to enter doors to progress.
- Slowed the speed of the level 4 factory crushers a little.
- Added checkpoints at all bosses that did not previously have them.
- Lowered the health of the Pest King boss.
- Lowered the health of the Wampus boss.
- Lowered the health of the ROB boss.
- Lowered the health of the MULE Terminator boss.
- Fixed potential graphical glitch when walking onto Chunga’s barge in Level 5.
- Fixed a graphical glitch that impacted some enemies loading at the screen edge.
- Slightly improved performance.
- Other minor changes/updates.
Still being worked on:
- Scrolling. It still is not where I want it.
- 2-player mode. Several hurdles. I may need to drop the feature, unfortunately. I’m not giving up yet, though.
- That dreaded slow down. I might need to completely reconsider enemy animations and try to streamline the very bloated sprite draw code, not to get too into the weeds about it.
